HSO's interior is neutral in nature and therefore accessible to international employees. The diversity of workplaces gives employees the space to find a workplace that supports the work that must be carried out at that time.

HSO International – Amsterdam

International hub where everyone feels at home

GRIP designed the HSO International office near the Amsterdam ArenA. The objective was to create a pleasant home for all employees that are often traveling the world. It should be easy to collaborate (in) formally, share knowledge and experiences and receive customers.

Working at the right level

In the concept of HSO International GRIP has chosen to incorporate the color and triangular shape in the foundation of the design.
For example, the carpet tiles are a subtle reference to this choice. The blue HSO logo has a solid color that evokes associations with reliability, efficiency and tranquility. This is a great starting point for a client that has tremendous ambition. The colour is our base for wall finishes, light fixtures and upholstery. As a warm counterpart we chose a warm grey as floor finish, in the wall tiles for the lunch area and in small accesoires. As HSO has a lot of international employees, we needed to keep the interior neutral and accessible.

We have followed the contour of the building with the floor materialisation to create a playfullness and to connect between the in and exterior. A large number of workstations allow to be adjusted to standing height. Not unnecessary since sitting is called “the new smoking”. To alternate between sitting and standing has a positive effect between efficiency and mood.

“We are very pleased with the result and receive only positive reactions from employees,
customers and HSO employees from other business units and countries who use the office as a base for Schiphol.”

Working in an activity-oriented manner.

The diversity of workplaces gives employees room to find a workplace that supports the work that has to be carried out at that time. Focus areas and call stations are positioned at the core of the building. The open workplaces provide space for collaboration and are visibly approachable, while the closed team spaces facilitate activities that require complete silence. The closed spaces can also be used temporarily for a team that fully concentrates on a project.

Clear expectations through 3D visualization.

The design is fully elaborated in 3D. For example, it is possible to move through the building before the first work has taken place. The interior design is determined on the basis of the images.
